Weird Greek

Weird Greek explores a millennium of overlooked Ancient Greek material. In each session the group tackles a new text, gradually moving back in time from the 6th century AD to the 5th BC. The diverse material includes documents, inscriptions, graffiti and literature (both prose and verse)—all of which present linguistic features or sociological themes which are atypical, obscure or simply weird.

Prerequisites: This group is aimed at students with at least 1 year of Greek study, who have tackled Attic or Koine prose already.

Date and Time: Not offered in Session 1
