The Languages of Ancient Anatolia is a seminarium focused on the linguistic diversity of the ancient region of Anatolia (roughly corresponding to modern Türkiye). Unlike other PALAIA reading groups, LAA does not run regular sessions, nor does it cover one specific language. Rather, anyone who subscribes to this seminarium will be kept up to date about occasional seminars which will be held by PALAIA covering linguistic material from Anatolia, including languages belonging to the Anatolian Language Family (such as Hittite), Phrygian, other less well-attested languages and research topics in the varieties of Hellenic and Turkic languages spoken in the region throughout its history (and down to today).

Prerequisites: Each language showcase, whilst assuming no prior knowledge with that particular language, expects attendees to be broadly familiar with the metalanguage used to discuss ancient languages. Therefore, familiarity with one ancient language prior to attending is recommended. That said, curious minds are never turned away, despite experience level.
